Working with historic documents can raise questions about cost, timing, and care. Here are answers to the most common inquiries, so you’ll know exactly what to expect every step of the way.

How much will I be charged for my transcription?You will be charged based on the quantity and decipherability of the text that you want transcribed.

How long will my transcription take to complete?The length of time that your transcription takes to complete also depends on the quantity and decipherability of the text that you want transcribed. It is also determined by the progress of the orders ahead of yours in our queue. (Transcriptions may be expedited for a fee.)

Do all pages have to be transcribed?No. Upon request, you may have any number of pages, blocks of text, or other content omitted from transcription.

How do I send you the documents that I want transcribed?Documents can be sent via scans, photos, or even physical delivery.

What else can you tell me about physical delivery?Shipping, handling, and insurance fees to return physical deliveries will be billed at cost. Video recordings of us opening and packing your materials will be provided to affirm our careful treatment of them. Your materials will be kept in a fireproof safe and transcribed in a smoke-, pet-, and child-free environment.

How will I receive the transcription?The transcription will be emailed to you in the form of a PDF. Other modes of delivery, such as physical USB drive, are available upon request. (All modes of delivery are billed at cost.)

How do I pay you?You will pay the cost of your transcription in two installments: half when your order is confirmed and half when your order is delivered to you. We accept nearly every method of payment: physical checks, PayPal, Venmo, CashApp, Zelle, Chime, etc.

How can I trust you to deliver on what you promise?Ask for small transcriptions before asking for medium or large ones. Also assess the FREE transcription that we provided of the sample that you sent us.

Do you transcribe audio recordings?Yes, we do.

Do you offer any non-transcription services?Yes. We also provide research, writing, editing, and tutoring services for most liberal arts subjects. Tell us what you want, and we will provide a FREE sample.
